Measurement technology has moved on

Project X is different. It incorporates radical new, patented scale technology. This has allowed Aberlink to design and build a complete vision system for the comprehensive 2-dimensional measuring and reporting of components. Incredibly, Project X costs the same amount as a profile projector. After all these years, the old technology of a projector has finally been replaced. The projector is dead, long live Project X.

Large measurement area 400 x 300mm. (Larger than any projector at a competitive price)
Deep Z focus distance, allows measurement of components up to 125mm tall. Motorized Z axis offers both rapid and fine adjustment of focus.
Fully controllable, LED Ring light and back light allows both directional and intensity control of top and bottom lighting in software.
Digital magnification: Keep zooming digitally - no need to keep changing lenses.
Full vision software package gives fast automatic edge detection - no need to rely on an operator to select edge points. Full graphical and tabulated reports available at just a click of a mouse button.
Stationary table and moving camera means that there is no danger of your part moving during the measurement process, without the need to clamp it.

Specification

2D Manual Vision Machine - Project X
Project X is a totally new concept in vision technology and it incorporates radical new, patented scale technology.
This has allowed Aberlink to design and build a complete vision system for the comprehensive 2-dimensional
measuring and reporting of components.

Project X uses 3 Mega Pixel colour CCD camera. The camera is moved around using two high-inertia hand wheels
for independent motion in X and Y. This facilitates both fast and fine adjust. The camera assembly utilizes an
air bearing system for super-smooth motion, and the air supply for the bearings is integral within the machine.

Controller System
The controller requires one single phase 13A supply, and consists of the following specification:
E4400 Core 2 Duo Processor, 1Gb RAM, 80Gb hard disk drive, housed in a 2U rackmount that is mounted directly into the frame of the CMM.
Cordless keyboard and mouse. 19" TFT monitor. Colour inkjet printer.

Lighting
Project X is supplied with both a 16 LED ring light source and back light, both which are fully programmable
from within the software, allowing directional and intensity control for the light ring, and intensity
control for the back light.

Software - ABSW001
The user software supplied with Project X is Aberlink's own 'ABERLINK 2D' geometric measurement software.
This software is a revolutionary development around a genuine graphical interface, not just with graphics
added on. The software draws features as they are measured, and then allows dimensions to be added exactly
as they appear on component drawings.

With this simple to use format, learning times for the first time user are minimal, ensuring greater
productivity.

Warranty
Guaranteed against faulty parts and workmanship for a period of 12 months.

Service
Full maintenance facilities, following the warranty period, are available including the provision of annual maintenance and recalibration contracts.

Options

Installation, Calibration and Training
An Engineer from Aberlink will install the machine at the customer's premises. On completion of installation, the machine will be fully calibrated and a calibration certificate will be issued. Included in the price there will be a half-day training course for up to 4 operators, held at the customer's premises immediately following installation. A comprehensive user manual is provided with each Project X.

Project X bench
The Project X bench is a fabricated steel bench which provides a rigid support for the machine with a position for the keyboard located at the front of the machine. When mounted on the bench the Project X takes up a floor footprint of just 65cm wide by 105cm deep, and it's height from the floor is 145cm.
